Art By Mia NewZ Letter October 2010 ….
What’s going on & What are we up to?

We celebrate the Fall with a New Season of Rebirth, Magic, Healing, Growth, Art and Celebrations of all kinds.

As we enter a new season there is change. The leaves gently change color, warmly blushing into fall and giving us a show of beauty and wonder. As you move forward with your daily routines don’t forget to stop and breath, feel your step as you walk and acknowledge your day.

Goddess Joy Workshop “ Projecting Confidence”

hosted by Sharon BirkeNYC – September 24, 7-9 PM ..$15

(Bet 6th & 7th Aves) NY, NY 10001  212-273-9696

“Email:  Coach@PowerfulGoddess.com to RSVP for details.”

If a man’s power acts as an aphrodisiac for women, what quality in a woman turns men on the most? (Clue: It’s not B for big breasts.) It’s C for CONFIDENCE. And no matter how loudly we insist that the world should NOT judge a book by its cover at work or in personal relationships, it does!

At this workshop, you will discover:

1. The 4 top reasons why you’re not getting what you want (and what you can do about it)

2. How to identify with people whose confidence and wisdom inspire and support you

3. The #1 principle that can give you complete control over your life (and where most people fall short)

4. Tools for creating and feeding the confidence you so admire in others

October ArtZ in the NewZ…..

Chamaca Arts making NewZ in October… Sheckitout!!!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. To honor all of our strong brave women from around the world Chamaca Arts has stepped up with some creative projects and workshops to support their courage, honor their bravery and inspire the creativity.

FAREWELL SILENCE ~ October 8, 2010  ~ $5.00 Admission

Curated and Produced by: Mia Roman

New York, NYChamaca Arts announces its first ever show – FAREWELL SILENCE ~ HELLO VOICE with one LIVE Monologue and Poetry performance on October 8, 2010 at 7:00PM. Rich, brave voices of women from around the world arrive via paper and pen at the Abrazo Interno Gallery in the historic CSV building located in the trendy Lower East Side of Manhattan. Join us for a night of unity and celebration of Women’s voices.

Over 100 letters submitted by women from all over the world some anonymous and some signed off with a smile, tear and heartfelt thank you will be on exhibit. The art of creative writing adorn the walls of the gallery, as an altar is erected in celebration of ALL women. They creatively express via pen to paper current events, politics, love, abuse, growth, imprisonment, solitude, family, illness, culture and religion.

A reading of the unedited letters and poetry written by women across the globe will surely touch on all emotions and create dialogue. Experience a heartfelt poem written from someone in Russia, listen to a voice crying for help from Afghanistan, listen to the pride of women in Nepal, the embrace from women in Africa and hear the tears from India. The gallery walls will exhibit over 100 letters written by these brave women sharing their voices while risking everything.

This is poetry with an expression of Female Roots. It’s the “IZM” without severing the “Feminine”. It’s a journey thru her eyes. It’s Raw, Erotic and ALL WOMAN!!

Her voice is FEARLESS, Her words are SHARP and Her wisdom is CAPTIVATING.

A child who becomes a confident and creative writer will reap the benefits in countless ways. In school, children who write well find that they excel in almost every subject. . . Becoming confident writers makes it possible for children to grow into active, critical participants in our culture and society.

Indeed, writing creatively, and writing poetry specifically, does help students grow into being confident human beings because the discipline of writing inspires critical thinking; it is a challenging cognitive task. A poet must first have a basic understanding of a concept or emotion and then transform that understanding into meaningful creative expression by exploring and distilling complex ideas into the brief format of a poem. Writing enables children to transmit their internal experiences to the outer world-to symbolize their experiences in words. And because children are representative of a myriad of mental, physical, and spiritual experiences, their poems will evolve in very unique ways. Join us in expressing yourself creatively and experience a new you.

Back To School…. Painting, Drawing and imagining thru the ArtZ

Learning Creatively with Art By Mia:

I teach once a week at a wonderful art school named “The Children’s Art Carnival” in the upper part of Manhattan. Every week I look forward to walking into class and greeting my tiny little students that range in the ages of 4-8 years. We have worked collaboratively since September 2009 and have grown creatively as a family. We have worked on multicultural projects, landscapes, cityscapes, pop art and so much more. I know how imperative the Arts is in my life. I can’t even begin to imagine a world without rhythm, color, movement or shape. If you know of a child that would be interested in attending a top of the line arts center that will encourage, inspire and advocate for a positive and healthy living check out the Children’s Art Carnival at http://www.childrensartcarnival.org  We are recruiting and are open to have you sit in a class with your child as a onetime test run. Let them know I sent you.
